MSc Engineering and Management

School of Engineering, Computing and Mathematics

Specialist pathways available:
• MSc Engineering and Management (Civil and Environment)
• MSc Engineering and Management (Electronic Systems)
• MSc Engineering and Management (Materials and Advanced Manufacturing)
• MSc Engineering and Management (Supply Chain and Logistics)

The Engineering and Management programmes at Exeter maintain a firm focus on practical skills development and are accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology. Industry collaboration is central to the programmes' delivery, with guest lectures from experienced senior managers and industrially-focused dissertations providing an invaluable insight into this area of employment.

The programmes enable you to develop analytical skills using multi-discipline tools and techniques from engineering, mathematics, computing and software engineering and systems modelling. This ensures you have the management knowledge and confidence to take an integrated approach to engineering design and organisational problems.

You will learn to effectively apply computing tools in engineering systems analysis and develop an understanding of the theoretical and practical application of industry-standard concepts and tools.

The management element provides excellent foundations for accelerated career development. The programmes open up a wide range of employment opportunities and will act as a foundation for further research in all areas of engineering.

The University plans to invest £80 million in science by 2012, which includes £30 million of University funds and an anticipated £50 million external funding. This investment will support interdisciplinary research within five theme areas; the School plays a central role in four of these.
